Orange and yellow weather warnings for various counties. Met Eireann has issued a status orange rain warning for counties Galway, Mayo and Waterford.
The warning for Galway and Mayo is valid from 1pm to 5pm, while Waterford's warning is in place until 6pm. Two other status yellow weather warnings have also been issued.
- A status yellow rain warning came into force at 9am for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork and Waterford. This warning ends at 6 p.m.
- The same warning will be in place for counties Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo from 11am to 8pm.
- Meanwhile, a status yellow wind warning is in place for Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow from 3pm to 7pm, warning of strong winds, particularly in coastal and upland areas.
It will be a wet and windy day across Ireland, with rain moving from the south of the country in the morning and spreading across all areas, according to Met Eireann. According to the report, there is a possibility of heavy rain and thundershowers in other parts of the country. Met Éireann has warned of flooding, poor visibility and dangerous driving conditions.
