The Delhi government has submitted a study report along with an affidavit in the Supreme Court that it is possible to reduce pollution and fuel consumption by introducing single and double digit vehicle restrictions. It was decided in the meeting that straw burning will be completely stopped and the district magistrates and police chiefs should ensure that the decision is implemented.
The Delhi government informed the Supreme Court that single and double digit vehicle control is beneficial in controlling air pollution. The Delhi government plans to implement the first phase of artificial rainfall with the help of the Kanpur EAT on the 20th of this month. Meanwhile, the suffocating Delhi received rain as a slight relief. However, the air quality remains in the critical category.
