Due to the strong winds associated with Storm Isha, Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange Wind Warning for most parts of Ireland.
Counties Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Longford, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan and Monaghan are expected to be hit by winds, forecasters said.
Munster (Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford), Connacht (Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo), Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Longford, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow and Cavan tomorrow Sunday at 5pm Wind Warning in effect until 2 AM on Monday. In Donegal, the warning will end at 5 AM on Monday.
Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Derry have been warned by the Met Office on Sunday.
Met Éireann has warned of difficult driving conditions, the risk of downed trees and damage to power lines during the weather warnings. A warning has also been issued that there is a possibility of large waves along the coastal roads
The RSA said road users in warning affected areas should check local traffic and weather conditions before setting off. Drivers are asked to slow down and take extra care when driving behind cargo vehicles.
People are advised to monitor debris, always follow recommended routes and obey signs closing roads to traffic.
Meanwhile, Gas Networks Ireland has assured people that gas supply is not expected to be disrupted during the storm, but has advised customers that gas appliances may be affected during power cuts.
