Ernakulam: 20 people, including woman, were injured in an explosion at illegal Churakad Firecrackers in Tripunithura. A report concluding that one person has died and six people are in serious condition.The injured have been admitted to hospital.
There was an explosion while unloading fireworks from the vehicle. The debris of the explosives was scattered up to many kilometer away. many houses in the area have been damaged. The concrete and window panes of the two-storied houses are crumbling.
It is not clear what caused the explosion. The fire force team has reached the spot and state police is conducting an inspection. New reports have reported that more than 20 + people have been injured in the explosion of explosives delivered to an illegal firecracker factory in Kochi, Kerala State. Officials said 16 people were seriously injured and one died in the incident.
The building at the site of the explosion was completely destroyed and nearby trees and vehicles were completely destroyed. People reported that the impact of the explosion was about two kilometers and the initial conclusion is that more than 30 houses were damaged. Police are evacuating people from the area. The exact damage losses or extent of the accident is yet to be estimated.
