Lebanon: 274 killed, 1,000 injured in Israeli airstrike, Israeli military launches new deadly airstrikes across eastern and southern Lebanon.
Lebanon's health ministry said more than 274 people were killed and more than 1,000 injured, including children, women and doctors, as Israel intensified its offensive in southern Lebanon on Monday.
Israel bombed several areas of Lebanon as the defense force warned that homes and other buildings allegedly harboring weapons by the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group should be immediately abandoned.
According to Lebanese officials, the country has received more than 80,000 Israeli calls asking people to evacuate. The head of telecom company Ogero, Imad Kreidih, confirmed the development to news agency Reuters.
An Israeli airstrike in Lebanon on Monday killed 274 people, including 21 children, in the deadliest cross-border attack since war broke out in Gaza on October 7, Lebanon's health minister said.
The war began when the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched its worst attack on Israel, with Hezbollah and other Iran-backed groups in the region drawn into the violence.
Israel said it had struck about 800 Hezbollah sites in southern and eastern Lebanon during the day, followed by a "targeted attack" on Beirut. Sources close to Hezbollah said the strike in the capital targeted a senior operative in the group.

Lebanese state media reported new raids in the east of the country, while Hezbollah said five sites in Israel were targeted.
