Congress-National Conference alliance to power in Jammu and Kashmir; Omar Abdullah may become Chief Minister; BJP's lead was limited to Jammu region only

Srinagar: The Congress-National Conference alliance has come to power in Jammu and Kashmir in elections held after a decade. Omar Abdullah himself may become the Chief Minister. 

National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah also won from Budgam Constituency. Omar defeated Syed Mundasir Mehdi of PDP by 18000 votes.

National Conference workers celebrating the progress of the India alliance in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The National Conference workers shared joy in Srinagar by singing and dancing. BJP's lead was limited to Jammu region only. Engineer Rasheed's party could not make the expected breakthrough. Mehbooba Mufti's PDP was limited to two seats.
