In a significant development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken decisive action in Himachal Pradesh, arresting three individuals in connection with a bribery case. Among those apprehended are the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, an Enforcement Officer of the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), and a private consultant. The arrests were made at the EPFO office in Baddi, located in Solan district.
The CBI registered the case on November 24, 2024, against the Enforcement Officer, the private consultant from Baddi, and other unidentified officials associated with the EPFO. The investigation has brought to light serious allegations of corruption within the organization.
This action highlights the CBI’s commitment to curbing corrupt practices and ensuring accountability among public servants. Further investigation is underway to uncover the extent of the conspiracy and identify any additional parties involved.
