Mechanic Walks 600 Metres Engulfed in Flames After Gas Tanker Explosion on Jaipur-Ajmer Highway

 In a harrowing incident on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway early Friday morning, a 32-year-old motor mechanic, Radheshyam Chaudhary, walked nearly 600 metres engulfed in flames, desperately seeking help after a gas tanker explosion.

Chaudhary, an employee of the National Bearings Company Limited, had set out on his motorbike when tragedy struck. Eyewitnesses captured visuals of a man, engulfed in flames, staggering down the road in search of assistance.

Around 5:50 a.m., a stranger contacted Chaudhary’s brother, Akheram, alerting him to his brother’s dire condition and requesting him to come to the Heerapura bus terminal. Akheram rushed to the location with two neighbors, only to find Radheshyam lying injured on the roadside.

"My brother walked nearly 600 metres from the explosion site, crying for help," Akheram recounted to The Times of India. "But instead of helping him, most bystanders merely recorded videos on their phones.

Realizing that waiting for an ambulance amidst the chaos was futile, Akheram and his neighbors transported Radheshyam to the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur in a private car. Despite severe injuries, Radheshyam remained conscious during the journey and recounted the moments leading up to the explosion.

He described the ground-shaking blast, the engulfing flames, and his desperate attempt to flee the inferno. Leaving his motorbike behind, Radheshyam managed to reach a passerby who helped him contact his brother.

Despite immediate medical attention, Radheshyam succumbed to his injuries, with over 85% of his body severely burned. "We thought he would survive," Akheram lamented. "But his chance of survival was a thread that ultimately snapped."
