Uttarpradesh: A dramatic turn of events unfolded at the Shiv Temple in Bharohiya when Kamlesh Kumar, a farmer from Govindpur village in Sitapur, was left abandoned during the rituals of his second marriage. Having lost his first wife, Kamlesh had sought to rebuild his family, reportedly securing the relationship through a mediator for a payment of ₹30,000.
The incident occurred on Friday when Kamlesh, accompanied by his family, and the bride, along with her mother, gathered at the temple for the ceremony. According to Kamlesh, he had already borne wedding expenses, including sarees, beauty products, and jewelry for the bride.
However, as the wedding rituals commenced, the bride excused herself to visit the bathroom and never returned. Her mother also disappeared shortly after. Speaking to reporters, a distraught Kamlesh said, “I just wanted to rebuild my family but ended up losing everything.”
No Complaint Filed Yet
Superintendent of Police (South) Jitendra Kumar confirmed that no formal complaint has been lodged at the local police station regarding the incident. "The matter will be investigated if a complaint is filed," he added.
Kamlesh has approached the media seeking attention to his plight, but the legal implications remain uncertain as the case awaits formal registration.
This unusual incident highlights the risks of unregulated matrimonial arrangements and underscores the need for vigilance in such matters.
