New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹12,200 crore in Delhi on Sunday, according to a press release by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The event, set to commence at 12:15 PM, aims to enhance regional connectivity and streamline travel in the National Capital Region (NCR).
PM to Ride Namo Bharat Train
Ahead of the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi will board the Namo Bharat train at Sahibabad RRTS Station for a journey to New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station at 11:15 AM.
A major highlight will be the launch of the 13-kilometer stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, connecting Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar. With an investment of approximately ₹4,600 crore, this project represents Delhi’s first Namo Bharat connectivity, promising high-speed, reliable transit between Delhi and Meerut. It is expected to significantly benefit millions of daily commuters.
Delhi Metro Phase-IV Projects
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 2.8-kilometer stretch between Janakpuri and Krishna Park, the first segment of Delhi Metro Phase-IV. This ₹1,200 crore project is expected to enhance connectivity in West Delhi, covering areas such as Krishna Park, Vikaspuri, and Janakpuri.
Additionally, the foundation stone will be laid for the 26.5-kilometer Rithala-Kundli section of Delhi Metro Phase-IV. This ₹6,230 crore corridor will connect Rithala in Delhi to Nathupur (Kundli) in Haryana, boosting connectivity in North-West Delhi and neighboring regions. Areas such as Rohini, Bawana, Narela, and Kundli will benefit from improved access to residential, commercial, and industrial hubs.
Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI)
In a move to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in Rohini. The ₹185 crore facility will feature cutting-edge research and healthcare infrastructure, including dedicated blocks for administration, outpatient and inpatient services, and specialized treatments.
