President von der Leyen stated that the EU is exploring the possibility of a future "security partnership" with India, similar to its agreements with Japan and South Korea.
Referring to global geopolitical shifts, she noted that the evolving power dynamics offer India and the EU an opportunity to redefine their collaboration. She also acknowledged India's efforts to diversify its military supply chains and enhance its defense capabilities. In this context, she emphasized the need to further strengthen defense cooperation between India and the EU.
