Maha Kumbh Nagar: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a significant announcement while addressing an event organized to honor sanitation and healthcare workers. He declared a special bonus of ₹10,000 for all sanitation workers engaged in the Maha Kumbh Mela. Additionally, he announced the formation of a dedicated corporation to oversee salary payments for sanitation workers, ensuring that from April onwards, each worker will receive a minimum monthly salary of ₹16,000.
₹5 Lakh Health Insurance Coverage for Workers
The Chief Minister further stated, "Not only sanitation workers but also healthcare personnel will benefit from structured minimum wage policies. Moreover, all healthcare and sanitation workers, along with other employees, will receive health insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh."

Highlighting the government's commitment to honoring India's spiritual heritage, Yogi Adityanath remarked, "Previous governments failed to respect and recognize India’s religious faith. Be it Prayagraj, Kashi, Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan, or Chitrakoot, these sacred places hold deep spiritual significance. We express our gratitude to the Prime Minister for guiding India toward a new direction."
Enhanced Salaries and Public Health Insurance for All Workers
Previously, sanitation workers received monthly salaries ranging between ₹8,000 and ₹11,000. However, from April onwards, this will be increased to ₹16,000, the Chief Minister confirmed. Additionally, all employees will be integrated with the Ayushman Bharat scheme, providing them with comprehensive public health insurance coverage.
Yogi Adityanath also reiterated the government's decision to provide a ₹10,000 bonus to sanitation and healthcare workers serving at the Maha Kumbh Mela. Furthermore, temporary healthcare workers will receive direct bank transfers for their salaries and will be enrolled under Ayushman Bharat for enhanced welfare and protection.
