India has categorically dismissed Pakistan’s allegations suggesting New Delhi’s involvement in the recent train hijacking incident in Balochistan. The accusations emerged after Pakistan claimed that the handlers of the attackers were based in Afghanistan and allegedly sponsored by India. The incident, which occurred on March 11, saw the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) seize the Jaffar Express, carrying over 450 passengers, resulting in a violent confrontation.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Shafqat Ali Khan, asserted that Islamabad possessed evidence linking communication related to the hijacking to sources in Afghanistan. “There is no change in our stance. The facts remain the same—India continues to be involved in sponsoring terrorism against Pakistan. In this particular case, we have traced calls related to the incident to Afghanistan,” Khan stated.
In response, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) strongly rejected these claims, calling them “baseless.” The MEA spokesperson emphasized that the international community is well aware of the true epicenter of global terrorism and urged Pakistan to focus on addressing its internal challenges rather than deflecting blame.
“We strongly reject Pakistan’s baseless allegations. The world knows where the hub of terrorism lies. Instead of shifting responsibility for its internal failures onto others, Pakistan should engage in serious introspection,” the MEA said in an official statement.
Afghanistan Denounces Pakistan’s Claims
Afghanistan also rebuffed Islamabad’s allegations, dismissing them as unfounded. The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “We categorically reject the baseless allegations made by Pakistan’s military spokesperson linking the Balochistan train attack to Afghanistan. We urge Pakistan to focus on resolving its own security and internal governance issues rather than making irresponsible statements.”
The escalating diplomatic tensions highlight the ongoing friction between the three nations, with Islamabad’s repeated accusations facing firm rebuttals from both New Delhi and Kabul.
