New Delhi (India), April 6 — On the occasion of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Foundation Day, Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Sunday paid homage to the party’s founding figures and senior leaders, acknowledging their enduring contributions to its growth and ideological foundation.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Nadda conveyed profound gratitude to the visionaries who laid the groundwork for the BJP’s rise. “On the Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party, I extend my heartfelt tributes to all the founding fathers and senior leaders who dedicated themselves wholly to building and expanding the party through tireless effort and unwavering commitment,” the Union Minister stated.
He further commended the party’s grassroots workers for their vital role in transforming the BJP into the largest political organization in the world. “I congratulate and offer my best wishes to our dedicated karyakartas across the nation, whose relentless efforts at the booth level have made this remarkable achievement possible,” Nadda added.
Highlighting the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nadda emphasized the government's unwavering focus on national development and inclusive progress. “Over the past decade, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, our government has been steadfast in its commitment to building a 'Viksit Bharat' and realizing the ideals of Antyodaya. On this significant day, I urge every BJP worker to rededicate themselves to the service of the nation and contribute meaningfully to the empowerment of every segment of society,” he said.
The BJP traces its ideological roots to the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, founded in 1951 by Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. The party gained prominence under the leadership of stalwarts such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani, eventually emerging as a central force in Indian politics during the 1990s—a position it has continued to hold with significant influence.
