New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday addressed speculation regarding his potential prime ministerial ambitions, asserting that his primary identity remains that of a "Yogi" and that his focus is solely on serving the people of Uttar Pradesh.
In an exclusive interview with PTI, Adityanath responded to questions about public support for his candidacy as Prime Minister, stating, "Look, I am the chief minister of the state, the party has put me here for the people of Uttar Pradesh, and politics is not a full-time job for me."
Firmly rejecting any notion of discord between himself and the BJP’s central leadership, Adityanath dismissed such claims as baseless. "I am in this position because of the party. How can there be any differences?" he questioned.
Reiterating his alignment with the party leadership, he added, "Where does the question of differences come from? After all, I am sitting here because of the party. Can I continue sitting here if I have differences with the central leaders?"
The remarks come amid ongoing speculation about Adityanath’s growing stature within the BJP and his potential future in national politics. However, his latest comments make it clear that his immediate focus remains on governing Uttar Pradesh.
