Indian YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Surrounded by Armed Escorts in Lahore; Arrested for Alleged Espionage

Hisar, Haryana – May 26 – Jyoti Malhotra, a 33-year-old YouTuber and social media influencer from Haryana, currently in police custody on suspicion of espionage, was reportedly accompanied by a group of armed men during her recent visit to Lahore’s Anarkali Bazaar, raising fresh questions about her alleged links with Pakistani intelligence.

The startling revelation came from Scottish YouTuber Callum Mill, who documented the incident in a travel vlog on his channel Callum Abroad. In the video, recorded during a casual stroll through Anarkali Bazaar, Callum is seen interacting briefly with Malhotra before noticing that she was surrounded by at least six armed individuals.

“She’s the one with all the guys, all the security. I don’t know what the need for all the guns are,” Callum remarked in the video, adding, “Look at all the guns she has got surrounding her.” The heavy security presence appeared disproportionate and suggested that Malhotra was being given special treatment—possibly under the protection of state or intelligence personnel.

The footage has since fueled speculation about the nature of Malhotra’s visits to Pakistan, including alleged appearances at high-profile gatherings attended by security and intelligence officials. Authorities are now investigating whether those armed men were officially sanctioned personnel and the circumstances under which such protection was extended.

Police Extend Custody as Forensic Probe Deepens

Malhotra, who was arrested in Hisar, Haryana, is accused of being in contact with a staff member at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. Her custody was extended by four days as investigators await further forensic evidence.

According to police sources, data recovered from three mobile phones and a laptop seized from Malhotra is under analysis. The forensic report has been submitted to the investigating officers, and findings are expected to play a crucial role in the case.

In a statement issued last week, Hisar Police confirmed the seizure of multiple electronic devices and noted that additional individuals, including a Kurukshetra resident named Harkirat, have been summoned for questioning.

Sources familiar with the investigation allege that Malhotra may have shared sensitive information with Pakistani contacts, including strategic data about power infrastructure and blackouts in India during Operation Sindoor, a recent Indian military operation targeting terror infrastructure across the border.

Court Appearance Scheduled

Malhotra is expected to be produced in court later today as her current custody term comes to an end. Investigators are likely to seek an extension citing pending forensic analysis and the complexity of the charges.

The case continues to draw significant public and media attention, with national security implications under review by both central and state authorities.
