Two men are set to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday morning following the seizure of heroin with an estimated street value of €3 million in Dublin.
The operation, conducted on Friday, was part of ongoing investigations targeting both transnational and Dublin-based organised crime groups. Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) intercepted and searched a vehicle in the Coolock area, resulting in the discovery of approximately 21 kilograms of suspected heroin, pending forensic analysis.
One man, aged in his 30s, was arrested at the scene, while a second man, in his 40s, was detained at a separate location following further enquiries.
The seized substances have been submitted to Forensic Science Ireland for detailed examination.
Both men are scheduled to appear before Court No. 2 of the Criminal Courts of Justice at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, 5 May.
Gardaí have described the operation as a significant step in their continued efforts to disrupt organised criminal networks operating within and beyond Irish borders.
