Amroha, Uttar Pradesh | June 16, 2025, A tragic explosion at a licensed firecracker manufacturing facility in Atrasi village, under the jurisdiction of Rajabpur police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district, claimed the lives of at least four women and left nine others injured on Monday.
According to officials, the blast occurred around noon. Upon receiving reports of the incident, local police, along with fire brigade and medical emergency teams, rushed to the site. The injured were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
In an official statement released on X (formerly Twitter), the Amroha Police confirmed:
“On 16.06.2025, an explosion was reported at a licensed firecracker factory in village Atrasi, Rajabpur area. Police teams responded immediately, and nine injured women were admitted to the hospital. The bodies of four deceased women have been sent for post-mortem examination. The law and order situation remains under control.”
Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand, who is overseeing the response, said, “The incident occurred around 12:00 PM. Teams from the police department, ambulance services, and the fire brigade reached the location without delay and began rescue and relief operations.”
Amroha District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta Vats announced the formation of an inquiry committee to investigate the explosion.
“A committee comprising the Additional Superintendent of Police, along with officers from the Department of Electrical Safety and the Fire Services, has been constituted. The committee will thoroughly investigate the circumstances leading to the explosion, including any lapses in safety protocols,” she stated.
Authorities have assured that all necessary measures are being taken to support the victims’ families and prevent similar incidents in the future. The investigation is currently underway.
