BOSTON — Irish firefighter Terence Crosbie, 39, of Dublin, has pleaded not guilty to charges of raping a woman at a Boston hotel during St. Patrick’s weekend in March 2024. The alleged incident is said to have occurred at the historic Omni Parker House Hotel on the night of March 15.
Crosbie, who has been in custody at Suffolk County Jail since his arrest last year, is currently standing trial at Suffolk Superior Court. The court was told that the complainant, now 29 years old, presented herself at Massachusetts General Hospital on the morning of March 16, reporting that she had been sexually assaulted at the hotel earlier that day.
Jurors on Tuesday heard an audio recording of Crosbie’s interview with Boston police, conducted the day after the alleged assault. In the recording, played in court, Crosbie is heard asking officers, “What is the investigation about?… If I’m being accused of something, I’d like to know.”
The accused also reportedly told investigators that he had spent the evening visiting Irish-themed bars in the city, including The Dubliner and The Black Rose, before returning to the hotel room he was sharing with a friend, Liam O’Brien.
Crosbie told officers that upon learning of the allegation, he felt physically ill. “I felt like getting sick,” he said, according to the recording presented as evidence.
The trial continues as the prosecution presents its case.
