The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a series of precision airstrikes targeting Iranian military airbases across western, eastern, and central regions of Iran, as tensions between the two nations escalate into an eleventh consecutive day of hostilities.
According to an official statement from the IDF, the coordinated strikes were carried out using remotely operated aircraft and focused on six strategic airports utilized by the Iranian regime. The operation resulted in the destruction of at least 15 aircraft and helicopters, including F-14 and F-5 fighter jets, AH-1 Cobra helicopters, and an aerial refueling aircraft. The strikes also damaged key infrastructure such as runways, underground bunkers, and storage facilities, which Israeli intelligence assessed as critical to Iran’s counter-air operations.
The IDF stated that the objective of the operation was to degrade Iran's aerial offensive capabilities and assert Israeli air superiority in the region. By disabling critical launch infrastructure and neutralizing valuable air assets, the Israeli Air Force significantly curtailed Iran’s ability to conduct retaliatory strikes or support broader military actions against Israeli targets.
In a related development, Israeli fighter jets on Monday conducted additional airstrikes in Kermanshah, western Iran, targeting surface-to-surface missile launch and storage sites identified as immediate threats to Israeli territory. The operation involved over 15 aircraft and was guided by real-time intelligence provided by the IDF Intelligence Directorate.
“These operations are part of a broader strategic effort to dismantle Iran’s offensive military infrastructure and ensure the safety and security of the State of Israel,” the IDF said, affirming its intent to continue targeted military actions as necessary.
The latest strikes follow Israel’s launch of large-scale offensive operations on June 13, aimed at crippling Iran’s missile production capabilities, nuclear assets, and senior military leadership. The campaign coincides with U.S. airstrikes over the weekend that employed bunker-buster munitions to strike three nuclear sites within Iran.
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that the American strikes had "obliterated" Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. However, U.S. officials have cautioned that a comprehensive assessment of the actual damage to Tehran’s nuclear program remains ongoing.
As both nations harden their positions, the potential for broader regional destabilization continues to grow, with Iran vowing to retaliate for the escalating series of attacks on its strategic defense network.
