New Delhi, June 2 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to hold a high-level meeting with members of the all-party delegation tasked with international outreach in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, according to senior government sources.
The meeting, likely to be convened in the national capital on June 9 or 10, will focus on briefing the Prime Minister about the delegation’s global engagement efforts, the key diplomatic interactions undertaken, and the responses received from various nations.
As part of a concerted initiative to strengthen international support for India’s counter-terrorism stance, the government had formed seven multi-party delegations. These teams were mandated to visit 33 global capitals to convey India’s position and mobilize international solidarity in the fight against terrorism.
Each delegation included Members of Parliament from across the political spectrum, senior leaders, and experienced diplomats. The initiative, led by the Ministry of External Affairs in coordination with Parliament, was widely seen as a unified political front against cross-border terrorism.
The seven delegations were led by prominent parliamentarians:
-
Dr. Shashi Tharoor (Indian National Congress)
-
Ravi Shankar Prasad (Bharatiya Janata Party)
-
Sanjay Kumar Jha (Janata Dal United)
-
Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda (BJP)
-
Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam)
-
Supriya Sule (Nationalist Congress Party)
-
Shrikant Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena)
The outreach campaign reflects the government’s strategic use of parliamentary diplomacy to shape global discourse on terrorism and reinforce India’s security concerns on the international stage.
Further details of the meeting and subsequent briefings are expected to be released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) following the engagements.
