Washington, D.C. – June 22, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump has described the recent airstrikes on Iran as a “spectacular military success,” asserting that major nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan were “completely obliterated.” The strikes, executed by B-2 stealth bombers in a coordinated operation, were hailed by Trump as a critical blow to Tehran’s nuclear program.
In a nationally televised address late Saturday night, President Trump stated that the mission had achieved its objectives with “precision, speed, and skill,” and warned that further military action could follow if Iran does not cease hostile activities. “There will be either peace, or there will be tragedy for Iran far greater than what we have witnessed in the past eight days,” he declared. “If peace does not come quickly, we will go after other remaining targets.”
Reflecting on decades of tension between Washington and Tehran, the President condemned Iran’s longstanding anti-American rhetoric and its role in regional violence. “For 40 years, Iran has chanted ‘Death to America, Death to Israel,’ and they’ve inflicted pain and loss through roadside bombs, killing and maiming our people. Over 1,000 American lives were lost, many more wounded — and countless others across the Middle East and the world have perished due to this regime’s hatred,” Trump said. He singled out the late Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani, holding him responsible for a large share of that violence.
“I made the decision long ago that I would not let this continue,” he asserted firmly. “And it won’t.”
President Trump also extended his appreciation to Israel and its leadership. “I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. We operated as a unified team — perhaps like no alliance has ever done before — and we’ve made great strides in neutralizing this grave threat to Israel,” he said. “The Israeli military performed exceptionally.”
