Weeks after the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 in Ahmedabad, which claimed the lives of 241 passengers and crew, families of the victims have come forward with serious allegations against the airline.
According to the bereaved families, they were subjected to undue pressure during the initial stages of the compensation process. Several claim they were compelled to sign documents detailing their financial dependence on the deceased—an action they allege was intended to minimize the airline’s compensation liability.
The incident involved a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that crashed shortly after takeoff en route to London, leaving only one survivor among the 242 people onboard. The airline is yet to issue a detailed response to the claims, but the matter is expected to raise broader questions about corporate accountability and the rights of victims’ families in the aftermath of aviation disasters.
