New Delhi: As India approaches Russia and China to overcome the US tariff threat, Donald Trump has come up with a new pressure strategy.
National media reported that the White House has asked European Union countries to impose sanctions against India. The US has proposed sanctions, including stopping purchases of oil and natural gas from India. Trump has also reportedly proposed imposing additional tariffs on India, as the US has done. The US imposed additional tariffs on India for continuing to buy oil from Russia. However, European countries have not yet publicly opposed India 's purchase of oil from Russia.
European countries have neither supported nor rejected Trump's decision to impose high tariffs on India. China is the largest buyer of oil from Russia. Europe also bought oil from Russia. However, Trump only punished India by imposing tariffs, excluding China and Europe. India responded to this as double justice.
