Demonstrating the precision and power of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Sunday released a six-minute video offering a rare glimpse of its recent aerial strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Posted on social media platform X, the video highlights India’s swift and decisive retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians were killed. With the caption “IAF responded with precision, speed, resolve”, the footage depicts Indian fighter jets executing targeted strikes that obliterated multiple terror facilities. It also features archival visuals from historic missions, including the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the Kargil conflict, and the 2019 Balakot strikes following the Pulwama terror attack.
“When the skies grow dark and danger looms across land or sea, there’s one force that rises — vast, fearless and precise. The Indian Air Force,” the video declares.
Operation Sindoor commenced on May 7, targeting and destroying several terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, neutralising over 100 militants. Pakistan retaliated with an extensive missile and drone offensive, which was successfully intercepted by Indian defences. In response, the Indian armed forces struck multiple airbases inside Pakistan.
Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, speaking in Bengaluru last Saturday, revealed that the IAF shot down five Pakistani fighter jets and a large aircraft during the operation.
“We have confirmed the destruction of at least five fighters and one large aircraft — potentially an Airborne Warning and Control (AWC) system — at a range of about 300 kilometres. This marks the largest-ever recorded surface-to-air kill,” the Air Chief Marshal stated, adding that some of the destroyed assets included F-16 jets under maintenance at an AWC hangar.
