A pedestrian was killed and another critically injured after a speeding Mahindra Thar struck them on 11 Murti Road in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri early Sunday morning. The accident site lies barely two kilometres from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Video footage shared by ANI shows a forensic team collecting evidence at the scene, with a liquor bottle visible nearby. The body of the deceased reportedly remained on the road for several hours before being removed by police.
The visuals also reveal significant damage to the front left side of the SUV — the fender is visibly dented, the hood slightly misaligned, and minor impact marks can be seen. A forensic expert is seen closely inspecting the damaged section of the vehicle while a police officer stands nearby, underscoring the ongoing investigation.
The 26-year-old driver has been detained by police in connection with the incident. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether alcohol consumption played a role in the crash.
