Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow thunderstorm warning for the counties of Clare, Kerry, and Limerick, in effect from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. today, as Ireland experiences an unusual spell of midweek humidity.
The warning advises residents of potential localised flooding, lightning damage, and challenging travel conditions in affected areas. Temperatures could climb as high as 27°C in some locations, though conditions will not be ideal for prolonged outdoor leisure.
A Met Éireann spokesperson outlined the forecast: “Warm or very warm and humid today with sunny spells, following early mist and fog patches. Showers will push in from the southwest through the afternoon and evening, some heavy with possible thunderstorms. Highest temperatures will range from 21°C to 27°C in light to moderate southerly or variable winds.”
