Nenagh, August 7, 2025 – Gardaí have launched an appeal for information following a fatal traffic incident that claimed the life of a man in his 40s on the R445 near Nenagh, County Tipperary, on Wednesday night.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 10:10 PM following reports of a single-vehicle collision outside a premises on the Old Dublin Road in Nenagh town. Upon arrival, first responders found the driver unresponsive at the scene. He was provided with immediate medical assistance and subsequently transferred to University Hospital Limerick, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have confirmed that the Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.
The site of the incident was cordoned off overnight to allow for a detailed forensic collision investigation by Garda technical experts. The road has since been reopened to traffic.
In an official statement, a Garda spokesperson said:

Gardaí are now urging any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident—or who may have dashcam footage from the area between 9:00 PM and 10:30 PM—to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
