Wardha, Maharashtra — The body of a missing woman was discovered buried near her residence in Hinganghat, Wardha district, after police detected a strong odor and found naphthalene balls scattered at the site. The discovery was made days after her husband had reported her missing and subsequently went untraceable himself.
According to police, the husband lodged a missing-person complaint for his wife at a local station earlier this week. However, when investigators attempted to reach him for additional details, his phone was found switched off. This raised suspicions, prompting officers to visit the couple’s home.
At the site, police noticed an unusual smell and observed several naphthalene balls placed on freshly disturbed soil. On digging, they recovered the woman’s body wrapped in a sack and buried in a shallow pit near the house. Details of the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear. Authorities have launched an investigation and are currently searching for the absconding husband.
