6,000 people will receive Irish citizenship at the Irish Citizenship Ceremonies to be held on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 September 2025.
The citizenship ceremonies will be held over two days at the Convention Centre in Dublin. 6 ceremonies are being held over two days for approximately 6,000 people. The six ceremonies will be attended by Minister of State for Migration Colm Brophy, Minister of Finance Pascal Donohoe, and Ministers of State Robert Troy and Neil Richmond.
Applicants from more than 138 countries and the island's 32 counties will pledge their loyalty and allegiance to the country to become Irish citizens. India, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Romania and Poland are leading the list of countries applying for citizenship.
Changes have been introduced to speed up the application process at the Department of Justice's Citizenship Division, including online digital applications, online payments, and e-vetting.

New Irish citizens will pledge to faithfully abide by the laws of the country and respect its democratic values.
It takes an average of eight months to process an application, with approximately 31,000 applications processed in 2024. The vast majority of applicants continue to receive a decision within a year.
Participants are required to present a valid identification document such as a passport on the day for verification purposes. If you are unable to present a valid passport, please bring other identification documents, they said.
The candidates will take the oath of allegiance to the nation at the ceremony. The citizenship certificates will be distributed later through registered post.
