PM Modi Targets Congress, RJD Over Infiltration, Launches ₹36,000 Crore Projects in Bihar

Purnea, September 15 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing the opposition of undermining Bihar’s honour and identity by supporting infiltrators. Addressing a public rally in Purnea, he vowed that “every infiltrator will have to leave the country.”

“A huge demographic crisis has arisen due to infiltrators in Seemanchal and Eastern India. People in Bihar, Bengal, Assam, and other states are concerned about the safety of their sisters and daughters,” Modi said. “From this land of Purnea, I want to say clearly to the RJD and Congress—whoever is an infiltrator will have to go. Stopping infiltration is the firm responsibility of the NDA.”

The Prime Minister accused the Congress, RJD, and their allies of “saving infiltrators and shamelessly raising slogans and organising yatras in their support,” warning that such politics placed both Bihar’s resources and India’s security at risk.

He also lambasted the Congress over a controversial social media post by its Kerala unit that appeared to mock Bihar by comparing the state to a beedi (tobacco). Though the post was quickly deleted, it sparked outrage. “This is a direct insult to Bihar,” Modi said, adding that Congress and RJD governments had long neglected the state. “Today, they cannot digest the development of Bihar. They never miss a chance to defame the state.”

Major Development Push
During his visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹36,000 crore. These included a new airport terminal in Purnea, fulfilling a long-standing demand for air connectivity in north Bihar.

He also launched the National Makhana Board, announced in this year’s Union Budget, aimed at boosting production and exports of the region’s famed aquatic crop.

Among the projects unveiled was Bihar’s largest private sector investment to date—a 3 x 800 MW thermal power plant at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur, worth ₹25,000 crore. Modi also laid the foundation stone for Phase 1 of the Kosi-Mechi Intra-State River Link Project, valued at over ₹2,680 crore.

In addition, the Prime Minister participated in Griha Pravesh ceremonies for 35,000 rural beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin and 5,920 under the urban component of the scheme, personally handing over keys to select recipients.
