Bengaluru, September 17, 2025 – Rajesh Yabaji, co-founder of logistics technology platform BlackBuck, has announced that the company will be relocating from Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road (ORR), citing the city’s worsening traffic and poor road conditions.
Explaining the decision, Yabaji said the average commute for his colleagues stretched beyond one and a half hours each way, with roads riddled with potholes and dust. “There seems to be little intent to fix them, and I don’t expect the situation to change in the next five years. It’s very hard to continue here,” he remarked.
Founded to streamline the trucking ecosystem, BlackBuck offers services in payments, telematics, load marketplaces, and vehicle financing.
Netizens Voice Agreement
The announcement quickly resonated with Bengaluru residents, sparking a wave of commentary online. A widely shared thread on X (formerly Twitter) captured the prevailing frustration.
Yogesh (@Spartacus_Tweet) described property rates in Bellandur as “massively overvalued,” comparing builders’ demands to “Chicago and Dubai for the infrastructure of Somalia.”
Another user, Aniruddha (@aNr1857), questioned why developers continue investing in the area despite its notorious congestion. “It’s absurd that Prestige and Sattva are building new tech parks right at the core of the jam,” he wrote.
Some turned to satire. “Ropeway is the only solution,” quipped one user.
Others took aim at the political establishment. “You have to adjust for 4 years and demand BJP govt to fix it after 4 years. BJP also won’t fix. But if you demand they will fix. Cong will not fix even if you demand,” tweeted @PanditRamJoshi.
The frustration also surfaced in personal reflections. “Bellandur is really bad for work, commute, and living,” admitted Rajath DM (@rajathdm), asking fellow users where they planned to move. Another user, Deepak Baid (@idk_idontkare), shared that while he too wanted to relocate, his sister’s daily office commute prevented the shift.
A Broader Urban Malaise
The debate underscores growing dissatisfaction among Bengaluru’s tech workforce, where long commutes and infrastructure bottlenecks are increasingly seen as barriers to both productivity and quality of life. BlackBuck’s decision to exit ORR adds to mounting concerns that the city’s reputation as India’s tech hub risks being undermined by its infrastructure crisis.
