Quetta, September 30 — At least eight people, including three personnel of the Frontier Corps, were killed and several others injured on Tuesday after a powerful explosion struck Balochistan’s capital, Quetta. The blast occurred near Zarghoon Road, a high-security zone in the city.
According to security sources, the attack targeted the Frontier Corps headquarters. Pakistan’s security forces responded swiftly, killing four militants who attempted to infiltrate the compound. Officials confirmed that one of the attackers detonated a suicide vest during the assault.
Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation into the incident. In the wake of the attack, the Balochistan Health Department declared a state of emergency in hospitals across Quetta.
Dozens of injured victims were rushed to the Civil Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department and the Trauma Centre, where medical teams are providing urgent treatment.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
