Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday renewed his allegations of large-scale electoral malpractice, asserting that the ruling NDA government was formed by “stealing votes.” He pledged to soon present what he described as “dynamic and explosive proof” of the alleged fraud.
“We have already provided black-and-white evidence linked to Bengaluru Central. Step by step, we will release dynamic proof. The slogan ‘vote chor, gaddi chor’ is spreading like wildfire across the nation because it reflects the truth,” Gandhi told reporters, claiming that governments were being formed through electoral theft.
Dismissing the BJP’s criticism of his remarks, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha warned: “They should not be agitated. The ‘hydrogen bomb’ we are about to reveal will make everything clear.”
Last month, during his Vote Adhikar Yatra in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, Gandhi had promised to establish “beyond doubt in six months” that the BJP was “stealing elections.”
He went further on Thursday, directly accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Election Commission of India (ECI) of colluding in what he called “vote chori.” According to Gandhi, the entire model of vote manipulation was designed in Gujarat and exported nationwide.
“In the coming days, we will prove beyond doubt that Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and the Chief Election Commissioner are engaged in vote theft. This model, which they proudly call the Gujarat model, is nothing but an electoral fraud system. The youth of Bihar will ensure an end to this practice,” Gandhi said, as quoted by ANI.
Gandhi has repeatedly dismissed the so-called Gujarat Model, branding it not an economic framework but “a model of vote theft.” He claimed the practice began in Gujarat before 2014 and was expanded nationally after the BJP came to power.
The Congress leader alleged that Prime Minister Modi’s electoral victories were built on “cutting votes and adding fake voters” with the support of Amit Shah and the ECI. He accused the Commission of complicity in manipulating outcomes in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and even Lok Sabha elections.
“In Maharashtra, they overplayed their hand. After the Lok Sabha elections, the ECI added around one crore votes, almost all of which went to the BJP. We now have proof, and we will show how Haryana, Maharashtra, and even the general elections were stolen,” Gandhi asserted.
