Ali Ahmad, Eldest Son of Mafia Leader Atiq Ahmad, Transferred to Jhansi Jail Under Tight Security

Ali Ahmad, the eldest son of notorious mafia leader Atiq Ahmad, who has been in Naini Central Jail for 38 months, was transferred to Jhansi District Jail on Wednesday under heavy security arrangements.

Police maintained a vigilant escort throughout the 420-kilometer journey from Prayagraj. At 3:10 PM, a team comprising four ORT personnel and 20 PAC officers escorted Ali Ahmad from a secured prison van directly into the jail premises. Upon arrival, he was immediately placed in solitary confinement and subjected to standard security checks.

Speaking to the media, Ali Ahmad requested protection from those seeking to harass him. “There were five to six people with me in the car. From there, I was brought in a van, and I could not even drink water. I appeal to the Uttar Pradesh authorities and the Chief Minister to ensure my safety from people trying to harm me,” he said. He also claimed that he had been falsely imprisoned despite being a practicing lawyer.

Ali Ahmad had been held in Naini Central Jail following his involvement in multiple criminal cases, including the extortion of ₹5 crore from a property dealer named Sishan and the planning of the high-profile Umesh Pal murder case in Uttar Pradesh. He surrendered to the court on July 30, 2022.

Following a government order late Tuesday night, he was transferred early Wednesday morning at 6:10 AM. The transfer was carried out under tight security, with police monitoring every segment of the route. Precautionary measures included temporarily slowing down traffic on the road from the bus stand to the court square upon his arrival at the border area.

Senior Jail Superintendent Vinod Kumar confirmed that, in accordance with jail regulations, Ali Ahmad was placed directly into a cell after a thorough security check and will remain in solitary confinement.
