Former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik, whose personal life has often attracted as much attention as his career on the field, is once again the subject of speculation over the stability of his marriage.
Malik first tied the knot in 2002 with Hyderabad-based Ayesha Siddiqui. Their relationship ended in divorce after eight years, just days before he married Indian tennis star Sania Mirza in Hyderabad in 2010. The high-profile cross-border union was widely celebrated, and in 2018, the couple welcomed their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik.
However, cracks began to surface in the marriage, and by early 2024, Sania Mirza had reportedly obtained a divorce through khula. Shortly thereafter, Malik married Pakistani television actress Sana Javed in a private nikah ceremony at her Karachi residence. Notably, members of Malik’s family were absent from the occasion, fueling widespread public interest.
Earlier this year, Malik’s sister stated publicly that Sania had chosen to end the marriage because she was “tired of his affairs,” adding further intrigue to the cricketer’s personal life.
Fresh Speculation Over Third Marriage
Now, months into his marriage with Sana Javed, speculation of a third separation is making rounds on social media. A video circulating online from a recent public event shows Malik and Sana seated apart with little visible interaction. This visual prompted online chatter, with captions questioning, “Another break-up on the way?”
Reactions from netizens have been divided. Some commentators suggested that Malik’s troubled marital past might be repeating itself, with one remarking, “No one can stay happy by ruining someone else’s life.” Others, however, dismissed the claims as baseless, pointing out that couples often appear distant in public settings. One user argued, “If such things meant breakups, 99% of marriages would fail. This is normal.”
While the rumors continue to circulate, neither Shoaib Malik nor Sana Javed has issued any public statement addressing the speculation.
