Bengaluru: A shocking investigation has revealed that Dr. Mahendra Reddy G.S., a city-based anaesthetist accused of murdering his wife, allegedly sent disturbing messages to multiple women claiming he had killed his wife for them. Police say the messages, including the phrase “I killed my wife for you,” were sent to at least four or five women with whom he had maintained contact over the past year.
According to The Times of India, investigators discovered a troubling pattern of obsessive and erratic communication that began months before the death of his wife, Dr. Kruthika Reddy, and continued even after the alleged murder. Police sources said Reddy had reached out to several women—some of them medical professionals—through social media and messaging platforms. In some instances, he even used a digital payment app to send the chilling messages, boasting about the crime as a declaration of “love.”
One woman reportedly told investigators that she had blocked him after repeated advances, only to receive another message months later in which Reddy falsely claimed to have died in a car crash and “returned” for her.
Authorities believe Reddy had been cultivating multiple online relationships while still married. On April 24, his wife Kruthika was found dead under suspicious circumstances at their home. The case initially appeared to be a suicide, but inconsistencies in the post-mortem report and the recovery of incriminating digital evidence soon turned the focus toward Reddy himself.
Investigators allege that Reddy used his medical knowledge to administer a lethal dose of anaesthetic medication before staging the scene to resemble a suicide. He was arrested in mid-October from Manipal, Udupi district. Police have since seized his phone and laptop, which are now central to the ongoing investigation into his digital activities and possible psychological manipulation of other women.
The victim’s family had long suspected foul play. “We insisted on a post-mortem, but Mahendra staged an emotional drama, saying he couldn’t bear to see her body being cut,” Kruthika’s sister, Dr. Nikhita, told Hindustan Times. She also revealed that the accused had opposed Kruthika’s plans to open a clinic for underprivileged patients and had even refused to legalize their marriage officially.
Authorities continue to examine Reddy’s online communications as they piece together what they describe as a case of calculated deception, manipulation, and premeditated murder
