UP Woman Alleges Kidnapping, Drugging and Gangrape; Two Police Officers Suspended Amid Serious Accusations

A 28-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh has accused four men of kidnapping, drugging, and gangraping her across multiple locations in Aligarh and nearby districts. In a shocking escalation, she has also alleged that two investigating police officers later raped her and extorted money under the guise of pursuing her case.

Authorities in Bulandshahr’s Khurja have suspended the two sub-inspectors pending a full inquiry. According to the woman's complaint, the officers not only demanded ₹50,000 from her but also allegedly detained and threatened her husband with a fabricated case to coerce her into complying with their demands.

Police confirmed that the prime accused in the original gangrape case has been arrested and sent to jail.

NCW Takes Suo Motu Cognisance

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of the incident. Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has written to the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police seeking stringent action against all accused, including the suspended police personnel. The NCW has demanded a detailed action-taken report within seven days.

Details of the Woman’s Allegations

In her complaint, the woman stated that in November last year, she was kidnapped by four men who had initially contacted her on Instagram. She alleged that she was drugged, gangraped, taken to multiple locations, and forcibly converted.

She further claimed:

  • One of the investigating officers summoned her to his private residence and raped her repeatedly over two days.

  • Another officer extorted ₹50,000 from her while promising to help with the case.

  • She was later attacked by two unidentified bike-borne men, although no FIR has yet been filed regarding that incident.

  • The police delayed registering her initial FIR, and she faced pressure from influential individuals linked to the accused.

Police Point to Contradictions in Statements

Bulandshahr SSP Dinesh Kumar said the woman had changed her statements multiple times, complicating internal proceedings.

“The allegations against the officers are serious; both were suspended immediately. However, the complainant has altered her version several times and is currently unwilling to file a formal complaint specifically naming the officers,” Kumar said.

Regarding the original gangrape case, Kumar stated that the investigation found only one accused — the man who contacted her on Instagram — to be directly involved. He has been arrested. The involvement of the other three was deemed doubtful based on call detail records and mobile tower locations, which did not place them at the locations cited by the complainant.
