Lucknow: A distressing video from Lucknow has sparked widespread concern after a man was seen violently assaulting his wife while their 14-year-old daughter recorded the incident and cried for help. The incident, reportedly from the Saharaganj area, identifies the accused as Vikram Rupali.
According to local media reports, the woman runs a Paying Guest (PG) accommodation from their home to support household expenses and fund her daughter’s education. She has alleged that her husband and mother-in-law have been pressuring her to shut down the PG facility—a move she says would leave both her and her daughter without any source of income.

Alongside the assault footage, another video has surfaced in which the woman directly pleads for intervention.
She states: “On December 5, my husband, Vikram Rupali, harassed me and my daughter. About 15 days ago, he tore our clothes and threw us out of the house. Please help us.”
Her message indicates that the violence has been ongoing, with the situation escalating over the past several weeks. Some residents have claimed that the accused runs a chicken shop named Rupani Brothers in the Hazratganj area.
Following the circulation of the video, Uttar Pradesh’s Women and Child Security Organisation responded promptly. Tagging Lucknow Police on X, the agency urged authorities to take cognisance of the matter and initiate necessary action.
