Haseen Mastan Mirza, daughter of Haji Mastan—the first major underworld figure of Mumbai in the 1970s—has released a video on her Instagram account alleging severe wrongdoing against her. In the emotional appeal, she claims that those who assaulted her, attempted to rape and kill her, and seized her father’s property are still roaming free. She urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene and ensure justice.
Haseen asserted that she will continue her fight “till the very end,” alleging that a conspiracy was orchestrated to erase her identity and undermine her rightful claims. She said that, although cases were filed against the accused, they repeatedly avoided appearing in court, causing years of delay in the pursuit of justice. Emphasising her father’s lifelong commitment to justice, she vowed to continue the battle in his spirit.
Advocating strongly for women’s rights, Haseen called for stricter laws to protect women across the country. “For years, I have been seeking help from the authorities and the media, but no one listened. Now that the video has gone viral, a few media organisations have contacted me. Please share this so that it reaches Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah,” she said.
Accused Have Not Appeared in Court
Haseen confirmed that although she has filed cases against her adversaries, the accused individuals have consistently avoided court appearances. While she did not reveal the case numbers or detailed specifics, she stated that the matter has been pending for many years. Following the viral spread of her video, several social media users expressed their support, though no response has yet been received from the government.
Fighting to Preserve Her Father’s Legacy
Haji Mastan was a dominant figure in Mumbai’s early underworld history and later became a film producer. Since his death, Haseen Mirza has been engaged in a prolonged struggle to protect his legacy and secure her rightful inheritance. She alleges that her adversaries concealed her identity and filed false cases against her as part of a plot to usurp her father’s property.
