Selfie Obsession Turns Dangerous: Tourist Survives 130-Foot Fall from Cliff in China

China: A young tourist miraculously survived a 130-foot (approximately 40-metre) fall from a cliff in China while attempting to take the “perfect” selfie. The incident occurred on Mount Huaying in Guang’an Province, and the dramatic visuals were captured on video.

The tourist reportedly lost his balance while standing on rocky terrain with his mobile phone, trying to frame a selfie. The mishap took place on Sunday. The video shows the man slipping and tumbling out of sight into the trees below, followed by shocked onlookers rushing to the edge of the cliff to check on him.

According to reports, the man rolled down a steep slope of nearly 50 feet (about 15 metres) before coming to a stop. Remarkably, he escaped without any major injuries. He later shared news of his survival on social media.

In his post, he wrote:
“The mountain gods have blessed me. I am incredibly lucky. I fell from a 40-metre cliff and rolled nearly 15 metres down a slope. When rocks started crashing down, I thought I was going to die. It feels wonderful to be alive! I will live my life more meaningfully from now on.”
