Sydney: 12 people were killed in a Pahalgam-style terror attack in Sydney, Australia. 29 people, including a child, were hospitalized in a shooting targeting the Jewish community at Bondi Beach in New South Wales.
Witnesses said two assailants in a car placed a black flag with a mysterious symbol on the windshield and then opened fire from a footbridge. International media reported that the terrorists fired for about two hours. Police said more than 1,000 people attended the event on the beach to mark the start .
A rescue bomb disposal unit has also been deployed after police found a vehicle believed to be containing several improvised explosive devices. One gunman was also killed, and a second suspect is in critical condition, police said. New South Wales Premier Chris Minns said mass shootings are rare in Australia, which makes the incident "all the more shocking."

Hanukkah is a festival that marks the miracle of the oil to light the Hanukkah lamps, which were supposed to last only one night, lasting for eight nights. It is a time of joy and celebration, a time of gifts and family, especially those loved by children. It is a time when light is supposed to dispel darkness. But once again, the darkness of anti-Semitism, hatred of Jews, and the murderous intent to kill them, no matter what country they live in, overshadows the celebrations of society. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the attack "an evil act of anti-Semitic terrorism that strikes at the heart of our nation."
