California : Two Indian women die in a car accident in California , USA. The deceased have been identified as Pullakhandam Meghana Rani (25), a resident of Garla mandal in Mahabubabad district of Telangana, and Kadiala Bhavana (24), a resident of Mulkannoor village.
They were travelling with their friends when the accident occurred. Reports say that while they were travelling near Alabama Hills, the vehicle they were travelling in lost control and the car skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge.
The two had come to the US three years ago for postgraduate studies. They were both looking for jobs after completing their education when they died in the accident. The families of both have appealed to the Telangana government and the Ministry of External Affairs for immediate assistance. Local authorities in California are investigating the cause of the accident.
The families have sought the government's help in coordinating with the Indian Consulate in San Francisco to expedite the necessary procedures and repatriate the bodies to India as soon as possible.
