Many couples choose to separate and seek legal divorce only after realising that continuing together is no longer possible. However, in recent years, allegations have emerged suggesting that some divorce proceedings are being misused as a means of financial exploitation, with reports of spouses demanding exorbitant amounts as alimony.

According to the claims accompanying the video, the incident occurred immediately after the family court delivered its divorce verdict. The visuals show the woman pulling the man by his hair, slapping him, tearing his shirt, hurling verbal abuse, and kicking him, all while lawyers and bystanders looked on outside the court premises. Notably, the former husband appears to be smiling during the assault.
Social media users allege that the woman had been denied a lump-sum alimony of ₹6 lakh, which reportedly triggered her outburst. It is further claimed that she had earlier demanded an unusually high monthly maintenance amount. However, the court is said to have ruled that no alimony was payable.
Reports suggest that prior to the final judgment, the man had legally transferred his assets to his mother’s name, resulting in no assets or income being registered under his name at the time of the ruling. This reportedly influenced the court’s decision to deny maintenance, leading to the woman’s alleged act of aggression.
The video spread rapidly across social media platforms, prompting intense reactions and polarised opinions on issues surrounding divorce, alimony, and misuse of legal provisions. However, it must be noted that the authenticity of the video and the claims associated with it have not been independently verified.
