LeT Leader Admits Damage to Terror Infrastructure in India’s Operation Sindoor, Issues Threats

A senior leader of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has, for the first time, publicly acknowledged that India’s Operation Sindoor inflicted damage on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). However, even as he conceded the impact of the operation, the militant issued fresh threats against India, warning of continued hostility.

Saifullah Kasuri, a close aide of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed and the outfit’s deputy chief, made the remarks while addressing a public rally attended by thousands of supporters. Kasuri, who is accused of being the mastermind behind the Pahalgam terror attack, admitted that terror hideouts were targeted during Operation Sindoor, but described India’s action as a “grave mistake.” A video of the speech has circulated on social media, though it could not be independently verified by India Today TV

.

In the video, Kasuri is heard issuing veiled threats, stating, “Watch your people, watch outsiders, watch friends and enemies alike. Watch those who impose restrictions and create obstacles—and watch us. Those who try to portray us as terrorists should watch us.” He further asserted that Lashkar-e-Taiba would not retreat from its objectives, declaring that the group would never abandon what he termed its “Kashmir mission.”

Escalating his rhetoric, Kasuri made a series of provocative and historically contentious claims, alleging that regions including Kashmir, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Junagadh, parts of Munavdar, Hyderabad Deccan, Bengal, and even areas within present-day Pakistan had been “taken away” from Islamabad. Analysts view these remarks as an attempt to broaden LeT’s ideological agenda beyond Kashmir and inflame regional tensions.

Addressing the rally in Kasur district of Pakistan’s Punjab province, Kasuri also claimed that allegations linking him to the Pahalgam attack had brought him international notoriety. “I was accused of masterminding the Pahalgam terror attack, and now my name has become known across the world,” he said.

India launched Operation Sindoor in response to sustained cross-border terrorism, targeting nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and PoK. According to official statements, the operation was precise, limited, and time-bound, focusing exclusively on dismantling terror infrastructure without targeting civilian or state assets.

Following the operation, Pakistan reportedly attempted to target Indian military and civilian installations using drones, but these efforts were thwarted by Indian air defence systems. Additionally, more than a dozen terrorist launch pads along the Line of Control were destroyed using ground-based weapons.

On May 10, Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) contacted his Indian counterpart, leading to an understanding on ceasefire and the cessation of military actions along the border.

Security analysts note that while Operation Sindoor exposed Pakistan’s continued tolerance of terrorist groups operating from its territory, the latest statements from LeT leadership underscore that the threat of cross-border terrorism remains unresolved.
