Delhi: A minor girl from Delhi was allegedly abducted and gang-raped late Friday night in Motihari, located in Bihar, according to police officials.
The teenager, a resident of the Dabri area of Delhi, had travelled to Motihari by train along with a friend from Uttam Nagar. Based on the girl’s statement, police registered a First Information Report detailing the sequence of events.
According to the complaint, the two arrived at Bapudham Motihari Railway Station at around 10 p.m. on March 13. Outside the station, two men identified as Abbas Alam and Tufail Alam, residents of Mahmood Nagar, allegedly approached them after overhearing their plan to travel onward to Sitamarhi.
The accused reportedly told the pair that it was too late at night to continue their journey and offered to arrange accommodation for them. They allegedly took the teenagers to a house and helped them secure a room for ₹600 before leaving.
A short while later, the two men returned and allegedly took the girl’s friend away, claiming that the property owner wanted to speak with him. After approximately an hour and a half, they returned and told the girl that her friend had been taken away by the police.
Police said the accused then held the girl captive and allegedly sexually assaulted her in turns.
The victim was rescued when her friend later returned to the location accompanied by police officers.
Following the victim’s statement, police registered a case and arrested one of the accused, Abbas Alam. According to officials from the local police station, the arrest was made based on information provided during the investigation.
Authorities said raids are currently underway to locate and arrest the second accused, Tufail Alam, who remains absconding. The victim has undergone a medical examination, and her statement will be formally recorded before a court on Monday.
