Delhi: Three Arrested After Police Encounter in Rohini Linked to Bawana Murder Case

Delhi: Panic gripped the Rohini area on the outskirts of Delhi on Friday after a gunfight broke out between police and suspected criminals. The encounter took place in Sector 28, where authorities had received intelligence about the presence of individuals wanted in connection with a murder case.

According to officials, as the police team reached the location, the suspects opened fire, prompting retaliatory action. In the exchange, two of the accused sustained gunshot injuries to their legs and were subsequently apprehended. The operation was carried out by the Delhi Police Crime Branch.

Police sources said the suspects were being pursued in connection with the murder of Ravi Bhardwaj, who was shot dead inside his residence in Harewali village in Bawana on March 19. The attack also left his father and three others injured. Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident stemmed from an ongoing gang rivalry involving multiple individuals.

In a related development, a key arrest was made a day earlier. Acting on leads, police detained a 20-year-old युवक from Begusarai, Bihar, identified as the alleged main shooter in the case. Authorities stated that he was present at the scene and directly involved in the firing. His arrest reportedly provided crucial information about the whereabouts of other suspects.

Among those arrested in the Rohini encounter is Akash alias Bittu alias Khuddi, a resident of Nangal Thakran in Delhi. Police have identified him as an active member of the notorious Tillu Tajpuria gang, which has been linked to several criminal activities across the Delhi-NCR region.

Officials confirmed that a total of three suspects were arrested during the operation. The two injured individuals have been admitted to a hospital for treatment. All three are believed to be connected to the recent Bawana murder case. Police are continuing their interrogation and have launched further efforts to track down other individuals involved.
