A daring late-night robbery in Hyderabad has left authorities on high alert after unidentified assailants allegedly looted nearly ₹1 crore from two men in the Kukatpally area.
According to police, the incident occurred on Monday night when the victims, identified as Khurshid and Asimuddin, residents of Bahadurpura, were travelling on a motorcycle carrying a large sum of cash. They were intercepted by four individuals who arrived on separate motorcycles.
In what officials described as a premeditated attack, the assailants surrounded the victims and, before they could react, threw chilli powder into their eyes, temporarily blinding them. Taking advantage of the situation, the attackers snatched a bag containing the cash and fled the scene within moments.
Police teams rushed to the spot upon receiving information and ensured the victims were moved to safety. Although the surrounding area was quickly cordoned off, the suspects had already escaped.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the crime may have been carefully planned, with the perpetrators possibly tracking the victims’ movements before executing the robbery.
Investigation Underway
Authorities have registered a case and launched an intensive manhunt to trace the accused. Multiple police teams have been deployed, and investigators are currently examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify the suspects and map their escape route.
Hawala Angle Under Probe
Police are also probing the source of the large sum of money carried by the victims. Initial suspicions point towards a possible hawala transaction, although officials have stated that this angle is yet to be confirmed.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the culprits and recover the stolen amount, with police conducting raids at multiple locations as part of the investigation.
