A shocking case has emerged from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where a married Indian Navy staffer has been arrested for allegedly killing his partner, dismembering her body, and storing parts of it inside a refrigerator at his residence.
The accused, identified as Chintada Ravindra, a 35-year-old naval personnel posted at INS Dega, is alleged to have murdered his partner, 29-year-old Polipalli Mounika, at his residence in LV Nagar under the Gajuwaka police station limits.
According to police officials, Ravindra and Mounika reportedly met through a dating application in 2021. Investigators said the accused’s wife had been away at her parental home in Vizianagaram for a few weeks prior to the incident.
Police stated that the victim visited Ravindra’s residence on Sunday afternoon, following which a dispute broke out between the two. During the altercation, Ravindra allegedly stabbed Mounika to death.
He is further accused of dismembering the body, placing parts in a gunny bag for disposal, while storing other remains inside a refrigerator at his home. Police later recovered human remains from both the refrigerator and the premises. The victim’s head is still missing, and authorities suspect it may have been disposed of elsewhere.
Following the incident, Ravindra reportedly went to a police station and confessed to the crime. During questioning, he claimed that the victim had allegedly extorted ₹3.5 lakh from him and had threatened to disclose their relationship to his wife, leading to repeated disputes between them.
A special police team has been formed to trace the missing body parts and complete the investigation. A case of murder has been registered, and further legal proceedings are underway.
The case has drawn comparisons with the 2022 Shraddha Walkar murder case in Delhi, in which the victim was allegedly killed and dismembered by her live-in partner, who attempted to conceal the crime by storing and disposing of body parts across the city.
