Hanumakonda, Telangana: A deeply disturbing incident has been reported from Inavolu mandal, where the bodies of a woman and her two minor daughters were found in a swimming pool, triggering widespread shock and concern in the locality.
The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Farhat and her two daughters, aged 8 and 6. The incident occurred in Punnela village on Wednesday night.
According to information available, the family operated a swimming pool on the outskirts of the village, near the Warangal–Khammam national highway, as a means of livelihood. On the night of the incident, the mother and children had gone to the pool as part of their routine. It is reported that all three were later found submerged in the water. Despite efforts by locals and relatives to rescue them, they could not be saved.
While initial reports suggested an accidental drowning, the case has now taken a more complex turn, with suspicions of foul play emerging. The victim’s father has alleged that the deaths may not have been accidental and has raised concerns of possible foul circumstances.
The husband of the deceased, Azharuddin, has maintained that the incident was an accident; however, this claim has been disputed by other family members.
The father of the deceased, Ali, has alleged that there were ongoing domestic disputes within the family, particularly concerning the children, which he believes may be linked to the incident. He has further claimed that there is an attempt to portray the case as an accident.
Police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by the victim’s father and have launched a full-scale investigation into all possible angles, including accident and suspected foul play. The bodies have been shifted to MGM Hospital in Warangal for post-mortem examination. Authorities have stated that the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report is received.
Officials added that the investigation is ongoing and all aspects of the case are being carefully examined. The incident has left the family devastated, with scenes of grief reported from the household as relatives continue to mourn the loss.
